Game of the Week (GotW)

And the game of the week is…Dead Rising 2. Playing as Chuck Green, motocross champion you fight your way through Fortune City bashing in zombies with almost anything (and I mean anything). It’s great because you can actually combine things to make weapons. For example, who wouldn’t want to take on zombies with chain saws attached to each side of a paddle!

Of course, that’s not what makes it the game of the week for me. In fact, I played this game a long time ago and revisited it, and so did my husband. No, what makes it great is that we found a store where you can actually change the attire that Chuck is wearing to leather assless chaps!

Okay I know the picture is small but it was the only one that I could find online. And as if this wasn’t enough! No, through searching it was discovered on a tanning bed. What you ask? A pink “massager”. I kid you not, actually in the store where you found the assless chaps, they had more in a variety of colours. So, what better way to kill zombies then by beating them over the head with a dildo while wearing assless leather chaps? Granted it’s not very effective for killing zombies (who thought it would be?) but it is definitely worth the novelty factor. Laughs for hours on end! Why not pick one up in every colour?

Now can you see why I’ve called it the game of the week? I can.

Wait…Jayne…are those grenades?

Game of the Week (GotW)

April 2, 2011 at 7:19 pm (GotW) (, )

Branching out from my regular cross-stitching posts, I’m going to put a bit on my favourite game for the week (or month or however long it lasts)

This week, I’m going to start off with Bulletstorm. It’s created by the same people who created Gears of War (part of the reason my husband bought the game was because of the early beta invitation for GoW 3).

I’m not too far in the game right now, but I am loving it. It has a similar feel to gears of war, but has expanded in a whole other sense. The best part about it has to be the sniper rifle. When you shoot it, you actually have to move the bullet towards the target (who is often running away from you). Headshots are a lot harder to get in this game, but that makes it all the more challenging.

I also love the dialogue in the movie. There are some amazing one liners that you won’t forget any time soon (I named him Waggleton P. Tallylicker) and the bantering is just a riot.

Anyhow, this is the game that has been keeping me going over the last little while. There are definitely some parts you have to replay a few times (yeah, I’ve died a few times, what’s your point?). I would recommend giving it a try if you have the x-box. It will be time well-played.

This must be what madness feels like,
